James Ivey Sr. (son of John IVEY and Elizabeth
ADAMS) was born on 13 Mar 1736 in Albemarle Parish, Surry County,
Virginia. He died in 1817 in Johnston County, North Carolina.
He was married to Mary Miller in 1766 in Sussex County, Virginia.
Mary Miller was born in 1738 in Virginia. James and Mary had the
following children: Littleton, William, James Jr., Hartwell, Reaves, and
