FIRST GENERATION
Vison IVEY was born on 5 May 1822 in Johnston County, North Carolina. He served in the military between 22 Oct 1863 and Dec 24 1864 in Wake County, North Carolina. He was in Co. G, 54th North Carolina Infantry. He was a POW on 7 Nov 1863 at Rappahannock Station, Virginia. He was furloughed 24 Dec 1864. He died on 8 May 1891 in Benson, Johnston County, North Carolina. He was buried in Ivey-Eason Cemetery, Benson, Johnston County, North Carolina.
He was married to Sarah Jane "Sallie" STRICKLAND (daughter of Jesse STRICKLAND and Elizabeth) on 28 Nov 1867 in Johnston County, North Carolina. Sarah Jane "Sallie" STRICKLAND was born in Aug 1849. She died on 29 Jul 1929. She was buried in Ivey-Eason Cemetery, Benson, Johnston County, North Carolina. Vison and Sarah had the following children: Sion F., Joseph Eldridge, Jesse James (16 Feb 1874-16 Feb 1890), Sarah H., William Henry Fletcher, and Nettie Cornelia Ivey.
